Aspen is a world-renowned ski town, but it’s not always easy to find the best hotels or properties for you and your family or group that fit perfectly! 

With so many options and different price ranges, finding the perfect place to stay in Aspen can be difficult. 

Living in the Aspen Snowmass area and working in the travel industry I’ve stayed or toured many of these properties! I’ve compiled a list of 23 of the top-tier hotels, villas, and condominiums in Aspen Snowmass for those looking for the best Aspen experience, incredible hotel location, tasty dining options closeby, and an array of desirable amenities.

I hope this list helps make your decision easier when planning a vacation to Aspen Snowmass during any season!

Questions to ask yourself before deciding where to stay in Aspen Snowmass: 

Who are you traveling with? If you are traveling with children, you may want to stay in Snowmass near the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center and ski school. If you’re traveling in a large group, whether a family or group of friends, you’ll find more condominium options to choose from in Snowmass, which means more space to spread out. Budget-wise there’s a wider selection in Snowmass, too.  

Do you enjoy a vibrant nightlife scene or quiet evenings? Downtown Aspen is energetic with bars and popular restaurants. It has a fun, lively vibe and is perfect for a special dinner, apres ski, and bar hopping! Snowmass is a more quiet village with a residential feel. Snowmass Village also has restaurants and bars, but not as many as downtown Aspen. This makes it more of a family-friendly neighborhood with a mellow, cozy vibe. 

What is your skiing ability? Snowmass Mountain has a wide range of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain on over 3,000 acres for skiing and snowboarding. Aspen Mountain doesn’t have any beginner terrain, and Buttermilk has mostly beginner and intermediate terrain.

The Wildwood Hotel

The Wildwood Hotel in Snowmass is a fun, vibrant hotel in Snowmass Village. With a casual and very social atmosphere, the Wildwood is a perfect hotel in Snowmass for groups, friends, and families with kids. The Wildwood has a range of floorplans including a guest room with bunk beds that can accommodate up to six! Some guest rooms will have balconies and the suites have comfortable sitting areas. 

A few of the hotel amenities you’ll find in the guestrooms at The Wildwood Hotel are mini-fridges, coffee makers, 42’ LCD TVs, and ample storage including under-bed trundle drawers, gear cubbies, and even a place to hang your skis. The Gant Aspen offers upscale condominiums and luxury amenities close to Aspen Mountain and downtown Aspen. On a lovely wooded property of five acres, The Gant has two heated outdoor swimming pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, hiking trails, a fitness center, and we-cycle bike-sharing.

The Aspen Meadows Resort was built with the Aspen Idea in mind, which is based on these inspirations.

Plato’s Restaurant is a lovely fine dining experience at Aspen Meadows Resort serving local fresh cuisine. 

Independence Square Hotel

The Independence Square Hotel is in the heart of downtown Aspen on Copper Avenue. Its historic charm was updated in 2017 with a renovation to the hotel’s common spaces. Each of the guest rooms and condominiums features unique decor and wonderful amenities. It’s a charming Aspen, Colorado hotel! 

Guests enjoy a friendly front desk check-in to assist with anything they need. The Independence Square Hotel has a rooftop hot tub, and sun deck with views of Aspen Mountain, Independence Pass, and the town of Aspen. The proximity to Silver Queen Gondola is one block.

The Stonebridge Inn is a lovely boutique hotel steps from the slopes on Snowmass Mountain. Offering guests deluxe rooms, king suites, or standard rooms, the Stonebridge Inn is a cozy property with a perfect location, making it a great choice in Snowmass. 

The Artisan Restaurant inside The Snowbridge Inn creates a warm, comfortable atmosphere with its fireplace, bar, and restaurant seating. Their menu consists of seasonal cuisine and locally sourced proteins. They have local craft beers on tap and many Colorado-crafted spirits as well! 

Incline Ski & Board Rentals, a locally owned equipment rental shop, offers on-site rentals, expert fitting, overnight ski tuning, and ski/ride essentials inside the Stonebridge Inn. 

Top of the Village

Top of the Village vacation rentals is ski-in ski-out accommodations with direct access to Snowmass Mountain. Two, three, and four-bedroom condominiums with mountain views are available with private balconies and fireplaces for your ski vacation or summer trip to Aspen.

Guests at Top of the Village will enjoy comfortable, nice furnishings with a full kitchen, laundry, wifi, and on-site parking. The top of the Village has an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, overnight ski tuning, and ski storage locker.
